Meredith Alvarado

Meredith Alvarado – Meredith Alvarado has appeared in various theatre, vocal, and dance productions as well as commercials and film. Theatre credits include Jesus Christ Superstar, Annie, The Secret Garden, Godspell, The Pajama Game, A Chorus Line, Rent, Guys and Dolls, Swing!, West Side Story, Bright Star, The Full Monty, Always…Patsy Cline, Bandstand, and Catch Me If You Can. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Taking Up Space dance company and has also danced extensively with companies around the country, including Zuzi!, Mam Luft and Co., Eugene Bhangra, and as a guest artist in both graduate student and faculty concerts at the University of Oregon. Meredith’s dance performance experience includes a range of styles, including West African, Bhangra, modern, ballet, contemporary, Middle Eastern, and hip-hop dance. Her dance home, however, is jazz dance, with her favorite styles being street jazz and funk. She is the lead singer for the musical duo Practical Romance and has sung for numerous bands, choirs, and other vocal special events across the country.
